Dr. Jen Agans, Assistant Professor of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management, will present an overview of research on youth development in the novel recreation context of circus arts programs. She will also share a work in progress (an intervention study in collaboration with a recreational youth circus program in Chicago) with the goal of gaining insight from the PRC community. Dr. Agans will present for 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of discussion including feedback to improve the proposed project.

About the Speaker

My research focuses on the role of out-of-school time recreation (e.g., sport, summer camps, after-school programs) in positive youth development, and on the development of active lifestyles in youth and young adults.
