How are evidence-based prevention programs faring in the face of opioid epidemic, widespread use of mobile phones and social media, a nationwide mental-health crisis, political polarization, and repercussions from the COVID-19 pandemic?

Join Janet Welsh, research professor of health and human development at Penn State, as she shares a brief history of the dissemination of evidence-based programs and discusses the best ways to promote and sustain their use. She’ll also describe the development of an online learning platform designed to educate anyone in Pennsylvania (and beyond) on prevention science dissemination and outreach. The PRC’s Evidence-based Prevention and Intervention Support (EPIS), which Welsh directs, is developing and marketing the online learning platform with the support of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).

Please join us as we kick off our fall lineup of PRC seminars showcasing the important work of our prevention researchers! Our seminars are free and open to the public.
