The field of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is young and malleable. Although the operational definition of SEL and how to execute SEL with high fidelity has garnered significant attention since its inception, the past five years have seen newfound recognition and expansion of SEL’s role in promoting or detracting from educational equity.
In this talk, Dr. Cipriano will respond to the significant discourse regarding what the parameters of SEL efficacy are, and who benefits (or not) from SEL, by sharing new findings and insights from her research updating the state of evidence for Universal School-Based SEL in the service of all learners.
