Constellations of Family Risk and Long-Term Adolescent Antisocial Behavior: A Latent Profile Analysis, with Emily LoBraico
Description: The family is a critical context underlying adolescent risk for initiating and escalating in antisocial behavior, with powerful implications for prevention programming. In this seminar, I will present a Latent Profile Analysis which identified four distinct, multidimensional profiles of families, and their associations with subsequent adolescent antisocial behaviors. Findings offer insight into potential program targets for family-based preventive interventions for adolescent antisocial behavior.
A Person-Centered Approach to Preschool Self-Regulation and School Success, with Benjamin Bayly
Description: Children’s readiness to handle the expectations of elementary school depends heavily on their self-regulation skills. Self-regulation is a broad term that includes both cognitive and behavioral elements; however, past studies have typically looked at cognitive and behavioral self-regulation in isolation or combined elements into a composite score. In this presentation I’ll highlight unique patterns of self-regulation and discuss implications for early educational interventions.
