Abstract:

The ability to regulate calorie intake in response to internal hunger and fullness cues is a critical component of maintaining a healthy body weight, but there are no evidence based programs for teaching children this vital skill.

We developed an intervention using a web-based game to teach children about eating appropriate amounts of food to improve their ability to regulate food intake. In this talk, we will report on the game development and results of our initial pilot testing in 4-6 year-olds.
