Overview
Evidence2Success is a program led by the Annie E. Casey Foundation that combines public health and prevention science to offer a new way of helping children and youth meet critical behavioral, educational, emotional, and physical milestones. Its framework has a number of core elements:
- Evidence2Success core trainings
- Youth well-being survey administration
- Fund mapping of public systems
- Priority setting & program selection
- Strategic finance planning
- Program training and implementation
- Fidelity monitoring and data tracking
- Developing a plan for scale
The foundation is building on lessons from its partnerships in its original site (Rhode Island, established in 2015) and currently collaborating sites in Utah, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida.
The Penn State team has three main functions in this program evaluation:
- Team members are assessing the implementation of the Evidence2Success framework in the sites with a mixed method, community-based participatory research design (e.g., observations, surveys, interviews, and focus groups) to assess effectiveness and identify any issues that require attention.
- They are offering these evaluation findings through reports to both the sites and the foundation, focusing on both areas of strength and those requiring action to improve the design and future implementation of the framework.
- They are coordinating all evaluation-related and data collection-related activities at existing Evidence2Success sites and will do so for new sites.
New! The Penn State Evidence2Success team has launched a series of action guides to help community prevention coalitions achieve their goals. Learn more here.
Duration: 2012 - Present
Partners: Penn State Survey Research Center, Keecha Harris and Associates, Social Development Research Group, Mainspring Consulting
