Samantha Murray-Perdue studies the factors and processes that lead to healthy parenting relationships, especially during the transition to parenthood. She is interested in understanding how these factors predict child adjustment and family system health. Her research goals are focused on developing preventive interventions using evidence-based methods to support high-risk, first-time parents, such as those with heightened financial strain and bio-behavioral health risks. She is also working with Mark Feinberg to adapt and share his Family Foundations co-parenting program with more couples expecting their first child.
I am inspired to promote the accessibility of human research by sharing knowledge of child and family development directly with parents and families.
