Patricia Broderick‘s areas of expertise include child development, the psychology of adolescence, developmental psychopathology, and adolescent development. She is the creator of the Learning2Breathe program, which is used in schools and communities throughout the country.

She is a licensed clinical psychologist, certified school psychologist (K-12), certified school counselor (K-12), and a graduate of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) advanced practicum at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts. She is part of a Penn State Prevention Research Center team on a U.S. Department of Education-sponsored study on mindfulness in public schools, and an advisory board member for CASEL on the intersection of social and emotional learning and mindfulness. She is the co-author of the developmental psychology textbook, The Life Span: Human Development for Helping Professionals, Fourth Edition (Broderick & Blewitt, 2014, Pearson) and the author of Learning to BREATHE: A Mindfulness Curriculum for Adolescents (2013, New Harbinger).
