Melissa Fausey is a Systems Change Specialist working on the Coalition Check-Up project, providing technical assistance to coalitions throughout Pennsylvania. The ultimate goal of the project is to increase coalition member engagement, bring additional resources to Pennsylvania communities, and promote healthy youth development.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Temple University. Prior to joining the PRC, Melissa was the Community Coordinator for the Juniata County Prevention Board. She facilitated the coalition through the Communities That Care process during the first two years of the Juniata County Prevention Board’s existence, cumulating with a working Community Action Plan. She coordinated prevention efforts in the county, including bringing Life Skills Training to the Juniata County School District, implementing Parents Who Host Lose the Most, hosting Senior Center drug take back events, and organizing Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention walks. The Juniata County Prevention Board was recognized as a “PA Stop Innovator” for their work on promoting proper medication disposal to reduce youth access to prescription drugs.
