Maria Godfrey started her work with Penn State PROSPER program as a facilitator with the Strengthening Families Program: for Parents and Youth 10-14, taking special interest in substance use prevention, internal family systems, and how to help families better communicate for success.

Maria serves as the PROSPER: Familias Unidas Education Program Coordinator for the Hazleton community.  Maria is a mother of two, together with two bonus children! She feels that being a part of such a wonderful team and program has helped her become a better mother, as she herself uses the evidence-based approach to help navigate through the waters of raising children.

Maria is especially passionate about building relationships, working with others and helping to make an impact in others lives, even if it is in just a small form.  Maria enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, baking and going to concerts.  She also finds joy in spreading kindness wherever she goes.
