James Banks brings his expertise in video production to the Prevention Research Center as a film studies major in the Bellisario College of Communications. His recent productions include:

James is also a 2025 recipient of the Erickson Discovery Grant. He used the award to develop a program for middle school and high school students from underrepresented backgrounds, who learned to create videos that inspire positive social change. The program is designed to build students’ confidence in themselves and their ability to make the world a better place.

His career goal is to influence policies on public transportation infrastructure in urban environments, changing the way millions of Americans get around. You can see more of James’ work on his Banks Rail YouTube channel.
