Daniel Schmidt is a Research Project Manager whose key project at the Prevention Research Center is Evidence2Success. Prior to coming to the Center over a year ago, Daniel was an instructor at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, where he received his master’s in corporate communication in May 2015.

At the Center, Daniel’s main focus is organizational culture and change; he hopes to learn how to adapt this change to improve efficiency, effectiveness and acceptance in society. As an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Daniel became a prevention scientist to enact change and benefit the greater community. In the future, Daniel hopes to continue to work with the dedicated people at the Center who are working on outcomes that impact families and youth in a positive way.

Daniel enjoys working on any meaningful project that will benefit society, but when he is not doing that, he and his wife are enjoying first-time parenthood with their new son, Augustus. An interesting fact about Daniel is that he holds a lifetime undefeated record at thumb wrestling.
