As the director of the Penn State research professionals network (ResearchPros), I have led a study to examine how unclear professional roles contribute to negative experiences of inclusion and how these impacts in turn result in reduced job satisfaction and increased turn-over intent. We will use this evidence to inform program development at Penn State and to scale the program nationally.
My goal is to enhance sense of inclusion for research professionals in academia, to advance human flourishing, and to implement and evaluate programs leading to a more diverse and competitive scientific workforce.
