Cleve Robert Redmond passed away on May 31 from a biking accident in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Cleve was a faculty member at Iowa State University for more than 25 years, where was a lead investigator on numerous projects focused on the prevention of substance abuse in teens. In partnership with Dick Spoth, with whom he worked for nearly 30 years, Cleve oversaw important prevention projects at Iowa State University, including the Capable Families and Youth Project, which provided the inspiration for the longstanding PROSPER collaboration between Penn State and Iowa State. He worked closely with many colleagues at Penn State on the ongoing PROSPER project since 2001.
Cleve was a great friend and colleague, always willing to listen to and help others. His shy demeanor hid a quick wit and great sense of humor. He will be missed very much by his Penn State friends.
