Community coalitions encouraged to apply for free technical assistance by Oct. 1
September 14, 2020
The Coalition Check-Up project is a study of the effectiveness of the Coalition Check-Up technical assistance system for supporting community coalition implementation of evidence-based drug prevention programs. Participating coalitions will receive free individualized, relationship-based, and data-informed TA to increase member participation and improve coalition functioning. Personalized data feedback reports and action planning guides will be provided, along with implementation support. Coalitions will have the opportunity to focus on their unique strengths and challenges by following a concise annual four-step process.
The project is nearing the end of the recruitment phase and will soon begin providing technical assistance (TA) to coalitions across the Pennsylvania through EPIS at the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center.
Currently 56 coalitions have joined the project and represent the geographical and cultural diversity of Pennsylvania. The project still has 12 spots remaining. If needed, these 12 spots will be opened-up for out-of-state coalitions. However, keeping the project within the state will reinforce Pennsylvania’s role as a leader in the world of prevention. If you are part of a coalition, please consider joining and being a part of this movement in Pennsylvania. The registration deadline is October 1, 2020.
To register for the project, or for more information, please contact Melissa Fausey (mbf5520@psu.edu) or visit the project website.
