For over 15 years, we have provided early scientists from all disciplines and backgrounds with genuine mentorship in a thriving community of prevention scientists through PAMT, our flagship training program. The Prevention and Methodology Training (PAMT) program, funded by a T32 grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, trains predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers in the integration of prevention science and statistical methodology for the behavioral sciences. PAMT graduates have gone on to do vital work of their own, with many holding key roles in research centers across the country.

We are passionate about passing on our expertise so that our field will stay healthy, strong, and rigorous and effect greater social change in the years to come. We have a comprehensive training approach and our scientists regularly bring their applied experience into the classroom, giving selflessly of their time and energy to equip the next generation. Through our annual trainee research awards program, we also offer funding to selected Penn State graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to conduct innovative research to inform or develop interventions that address issues of disparities related to race, socioeconomic status, sexual or gender identity.
