Overview
The Prevention Research to Optimize (PRO) Health Lab is a joint collaboration between the department of Biobehavioral Health and the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center‘s PRO Health Lab.
The PRO Health Lab specializes in peer, parent, and feedback interventions to help reduce risky drinking and health related behaviors in adolescents, college students, and adults. The research conducted in their lab is considered to be at the forefront of both the alcohol and skin cancer fields, and their projects are funded by divisions of the National Institutes of Health (National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, National Institute on Drug Abuse, and National Cancer Institute), as well as private sources such as the American Cancer Society. Our undergraduate and graduate students have received distinguished awards, and nearly all of our students have gotten into prestigious graduate schools, or have moved on to highly sought after positions in the industry upon the completion of their training.
