A workshop focused on identifying the often-hidden warning signs and risk factors, building a therapeutic alliance, using assessment tools, and effectively conducting youth suicide risk screening and interviews.

Program takeaways include:

  • Identifying risk factors and warning signs of suicidal behavior
  • Screening and effective response to youth with suicide risk
  • Strategies to monitor risk over time
  • Employing school-based strategies for re-entry planning
  • Applying concepts learned to actual case studies.

Cost:

  • $50.00 for Penn State affiliates (faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars) 
  • $15.00 for Penn State graduates
  • $75 for non-Penn State attendees

This workshop satisfies Pennsylvania Department of Education’s requirements for six Act 48 hours. Psychologists can receive a maximum of six APA continuing education (CE) credits.

This is the 9th Annual Central PA Workshop on Evidence-Based Mental Health Services hosted by the Penn State Child Study Center and Psychological Clinic.
