The Office of Sponsored Programs, with input from the University Research Council, has developed a new electronic internal approval process that is currently being adopted in the College of Health and Human Development. The system is intended to save time and effort because the document is transferred electronically with the ability to gather several signature approvals in parallel rather than serially. The approach will also assist in bringing the campus into compliance with federal mandates requiring disclosures at the time of proposal submission. The new process requires that all investigators in all cases personally approve the ePIAF and in so doing disclose any significant financial interest or similar proposals pending with other sponsors.
