Advancing your research portfolio is a key faculty priority. This session will introduce Penn State faculty, staff and students to the innovative research happening at the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center (PRC) at Penn State. PRC-affiliated faculty use science to promote human flourishing and prevent problems that cause human suffering.
This seminar is the next in a series of research mentorship events led by Dr. Chilenski, in her role as Senior Faculty Mentor for the Penn State Office of Educational Equity. During this event, she will lead a panel discussion with PRC-affiliated faculty, including Rob Turrisi, professor of biobehavioral health, and Damon Jones, research professor of health and human development and director of the Social Investment Optimizer at Penn State. Each faculty member will:
- Present their research focus and current projects
- Share opportunities for collaboration and data-sharing
- Preview future directions for their research portfolio
The session will also:
- Help attendees identify potential collaborators and projects of interest
- Encourage faculty to schedule one-on-one mentoring sessions with Dr. Chilenski to strategize next steps
PRC faculty will represent all five focus areas of the PRC:
- Foundational Science
- Promoting Human Flourishing
- Developing and Testing Innovative Interventions
- Implementing and Evaluating Evidence-Based Programs
- Informing Policy and the Public
