This session will have a mentorship focus on helping participants build and move their research portfolios forward by introducing them to the wealth of resources available at Penn State to support externally funded research and build productive research collaborations.

Sarah Chilenski, research professor at the Edna Bennett Research Center, co-lead of the Group to Reduce Inequities in Prevention, and senior faculty mentor, will lead a panel presentation with directors of Penn State research centers and institutes, as well as faculty from across the University. Attendees will learn about:

  • each center’s/institute’s mission, including information about the research projects that occur in their Institute or Center;
  • existing collaboration opportunities; and
  • presenters’ ideas and vision of future directions.

This session will encourage faculty to consider which research centers or institutes at Penn State would be a good fit for them, and faculty will be encouraged to follow-up with one-on-one mentoring sessions with Dr. Chilenski to strategize about engagement with relevant centers and institutes.
