Technical Assistance to Research-based Delinquency and Violence Prevention Projects
Start Date: 1999
Funder: Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency
Under a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) and the Governor's Community Partnership for Safe Children, the Prevention Research Center is providing technical assistance and evaluation support to 5 communities funded through PCCD's Research Based Delinquency and Violence Prevention Funding Initiative. Through this initiative, local communities recieve four-year grants to implement research-based, well validated prevention programs. Because the programs being implemented have already undergone rigorous tests of efficacy (effectiveness in a controlled environment), the emphasis of the technical assistance provided will be on identifying and monitoring the quality of the program implementation process. The Prevention Research Center will assist grantees in developing measures of implementation quality and collecting and analyzing data to improve the fidelity of implementation.
