Kris Von Wald, Ph.D., joined the Center in 2016 as Operations Director to help the Center develop its organizational capacity to support current faculty and affiliates, and to attract new people, ideas and resources for the Center. With a background in systems leadership and change, organization development and positive youth development, Kris is passionate about research that improves systems to make a positive difference for children, families, and communities.
Kris came to the Center from Scotland where she was an independent consultant working across the public, commercial and charity sectors offering strategic research, leadership and organization development services. Key projects included creating a toolkit for program evaluation for youth development in the outdoors, leading research on behalf of the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland to improve access to health care for minority and ethnic populations, and evaluating the performance of a NHS initiative to overcome health inequalities and disparities.
Kris received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation, a M.A. in Educational Psychology, and a B.Sc. in Business Finance and Marketing from The University of Colorado. She has worked at senior levels in the commercial finance industry and as a chief executive of non-profit and charitable organizations.
Kris’s favorite part about working at the Center here is the collaborative and collegial environment where people from different disciplines come to explore ideas and share resources.
